DIY Beach Wedding Place Cards

April 1, 2019

I am absolutely in love with the seashell place card trend for beach weddings. Shells add the perfect elegant coastal touch to wedding decor without seeming “too” nautical. Today I am going to show you how to use your Cricut to print on shells and create DIY beach wedding place cards. The muted, natural colors of shells are the perfect addition to any reception decor. And these DIY beach wedding place cards are an elegant way to include a coastal theme in your wedding without overwhelming your reception with lots of nautical details. Read on below to learn how to make these DIY beach wedding place cards with your Cricut!beach wedding place cardsbeach wedding place cardsSupplies You Will Need:
Shells – I used Capiz shells as I had them already but you could easily make these place cards with sand dollars or moon shells.
Cricut Machine
Black Vinyl
Transfer Tape
Cricut Tools
Gold Paint
Tape your shells using painters tape. I kept mine simple and only painted the top but you could paint the top and bottom, do a diagonal stripe, the options are endless.beach wedding place cards Next, use gold paint and a large brush to paint your shell.beach wedding place cards While your shells dry use your Cricut machine to print out your guests names onto black vinyl. beach wedding place cards Apply transfer tape to your vinyl and gently place on top of your shells. I suggest just using your fingers to rub the vinyl on. Shells are delicate and will easily break if you are too harsh. beach wedding place cardsbeach wedding place cardsYour beach wedding place cards are now complete! Place them in an escort card display filled with sand or at each guests place setting for a pop of the coast.beach wedding place cardsbeach wedding place cards

Hi there! These are beautiful!! I don’t have a Cricut machine but my best friend/maid of honor does. Is cutting the names time consuming or difficult? If so, is there an alternative that is easier?
    Love it!

Thanks Brianna! It is always more time consuming if you use a calligraphy font. I would use a font like Cricut Sans if you are looking to save time.
