If there is one thing every single wedding guest looks forward to it is wedding cake. So picking out your wedding cake or sweets should be up there on your to-do list. Charleston is quite the foodie town and it can be a bit overwhelming to narrow down your choices. Luckily, I am a connoisseur when it comes to sweets and have compiled a list of my favorite shops in town. Whether you are looking for a traditional cake, cupcakes, or a bevvy of sweets you can’t go wrong with these favorites!

Sugar Bakeshop
Sugar Bakeshop is hands down my favorite spot for cupcakes in town. Their handmade, Southern treats are baked to perfection and they can easily accommodate wedding orders. Their cupcakes are so good your guests may have to make a pit stop on their way out of town.
Bakehouse Charleston
Bakehouse made some of the desserts for Blake Lively’s Boone Hall wedding so you know they’ve got to be good. Their cookies and sweets are some of the most delicious in town. Make sure to try their s’mores bars and whoopie pies.
Wedding Cakes by Jim Smeal
Jim Smeal makes some of the most gorgeous wedding cakes in Charleston. If you’re looking for a cake that’s a showstopper then look no further.Swank Desserts
Since they don’t have a store front, you may easily miss Swank Desserts and that would be a huge mistake. You may remember their treats from this Valentine’s styled shoot. An online specialty dessert shop, Swank makes the most amazing nutella fudge brownies and macaroons.
Wildflour Pastry
Wildflour makes some of the best traditional cakes in town. Their scones and sticky buns would also be great if you are hosting a post-wedding brunch.
