Romantic Bok Tower Gardens Wedding

October 30, 2019

With soft white details and bridesmaids in the prettiest petal pink dresses this Bok Tower Gardens wedding is a complete dream. Bok Tower Gardens was the perfect setting for Julianne and Josh to say “I do” as only a few years prior it was where the couple went on their first date. The bride and groom infused their wedding with several personal details including custom retro matchbox wedding favors. Captured by The Ganeys this is one wedding you won’t want to miss!
How did you meet? We were introduced by mutual friends who were dating at the time. They broke up a week after Josh and I were introduced, so we met just in time!

What is your proposal story? It’s a little nontraditional in the sense that we did quite a bit of planning before we actually got engaged. Josh suggested that we start looking at rings and with that we started planning too. Once we picked out a ring, Josh didn’t tell me when it was finished being made and I was anxiously awaiting when he would actually be popping the question! He proposed at Magic Kingdom at the wishing well by Cinderella’s Castle and it was magical.Tell us a little a bit about your wedding: We went to Bok Tower on our first date and knew it was the only place for us to get married. We chose the Sundial Overlook – an area on one side of the tower with plenty of shade from old oak trees. The gardens themselves are beautiful, and so we wanted to keep the ceremony site simple and did not compete with the beauty all around us. Our style was simple, yet classic and very personal. We carried that through to the cocktail hour, which was in a beautiful outside patio area, and to the reception, which was in a transformed visitor center. Our colors consisted of a lot of white, some blush, and some navy. What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Most important – location and the recording of the day through our amazing photographers and videographer. What were your favorite parts of the day? The entire day was perfect and filled with love everywhere. Our first look was beyond special and really made our entire day flow so beautifully. We got to spend so much of it together and with our families. Absolute favorite part though – becoming husband and wife! It was also the most special that my 101 year-old grandmother was there and got to enjoy the whole day. What did you do for favors? The favors were very personal and we (especially my mom and I) had a lot of fun creating and designing them. For the ceremony, we had handkerchiefs for each guest along with a welcome card. At the reception, we had matchboxes and designed a retro theme to reflect their classic origins. We had personalized M&Ms with our names and a photo of us which were in individual bags for each guest.Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now? It is so important that you pick vendors that you trust! And by trust, I also mean that they “get” your vision and you feel confident that they are on the same page as you. There is no better feeling than knowing that you don’t have to worry about them and that everything they do will be perfect!
