Event You Need To Know // The Southern C Summit

February 15, 2016

Happy Monday morning lovelies! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed our surprise Valentine’s Day post yesterday! Today I am excited to introduce you to a Spring event taking place in Charleston that I am very excited about. This April, I along with some of my Charleston Blog Society pals, will be attending The Southern C Summit. If you’ve ever had an interest in blogging, starting your own business or even just finding a creative outlet then this conference is for you! Southern_C_Summit_001 This three day conference brings some of the biggest names in publishing and blogging to our little city. After hearing that two of my all time favorite bloggers, Grace Atwood of The Stripe and Liz Adams of Sequins & Stripes, were speaking I just knew I had to attend! Both of these bloggers have been a huge inspiration to me over the past few years and I cannot wait to learn from them. Southern_C_Summit_002Southern_C_Summit_003Southern_C_Summit_004The intimate format of The Southern C provides opportunities for attendees to really get to know the different speakers on a personal level. All presenters attend the conference which is way different from any blogging conference I have ever attended. It is so much nicer to have speakers stick around rather than buzz in just to give their presentations. Southern_C_Summit_005Southern_C_Summit_006Southern_C_Summit_007Southern_C_Summit_008Another exciting element about The Southern C Summit is that they offer breakout sessions to really hone in on specific topics. Everything is offered from video production, to PR, branding, and my personal favorite, a one hour styling workshop. Southern_C_Summit_009Southern_C_Summit_010 Since The Southern C takes place in Charleston you are guaranteed that the daily classroom discussions will be carried on into the warm night over cocktails at a charming bar. I for one am thoroughly looking forward to learning new tips and tricks for my blog and meeting other creatives. Let me know if you plan on attending and you can join our blogging group for a coffee! Understated Elegace Beach Shoot

July 6, 2015

There is something so sweet and simple about an elopement. Stripping away the commotion of a big wedding day and sneaking away with your sweetheart to say “I do” is pretty much as romantic as it gets! Today’s elopement from John Newsome Photography at Torrey Pines in San Diego offered a breathtaking backdrop that also allowed the beautifully simple details to show through. I love the elegant details like the handmade oyster shell book to hold the handwritten vows by Paperweight and the lush bouquet by L&S Design Co., which further completes the coastal look.  Sun_001Sun_002storyboard001Sun_005Sun_006Sun_007Sun_008storyboard002Sun_011Sun_012Sun_013

Wedding Stationery Trends With Minted

July 1, 2015

Recently Minted, one of my favorite stationery companies, launched a new line of wedding invitations for 2015. Full of new colors, fonts and patterns there is a suite for every type of wedding and couple. Today I am sharing two of my favorite wedding suites from the new collection but I highly suggest you check out all of the styles on Minted’s site!

If you are a regular reader of this blog then you know I adore everything watercolor. And I just love seeing watercolor details popping up everywhere in weddings this year. With it’s wash of pinks and oranges, the Gallery Love suite is a design right after my own heart! My second favorite suite from Minted’s new collection is the Wedding Etching from their foil-pressed invitation line. Nothing says elegant like a foil-pressed invitation and this stationery suite on thick luxe paper will impress all of your guests!

This post is sponsored by Minted. All opinions are my own. Thanks for supporting our advertisers who help keep this blog running! This post contains affiliate links which means I will earn a small commission if you shop through them.

Happy Weekend // Around The Web

May 22, 2015

Happy Weekend! I’m pretty sure I say this every Friday – but wow, it was a busy one! The week started with our monthly Charleston Blog Society get together. This month we celebrated a late Cinco de Mayo with a pot luck at Annie Reeves house. Then the week ended with a bloggers lunch with J.McLaughlin at the Park Cafe. J.McLaughlin was kind enough to gift us outfits for the event as well as the tote below which I am already looking forward to using at the beach this weekend! I got this super cute top and these shorts which will be on serious repeat this summer and would be perfect to pack for a honeymoon or coastal vacation!

More where this came from over on Instagram!

With the backdrop of Whitford Plantation in New Bern, NC today’s wedding is the perfect study in Southern elegance. Coastal Wedding at Lighthouse on The Creek // Ashleigh + John

December 15, 2014

You might remember these cuties from their brewery engagement I featured back in the spring. Well these two lovebirds threw an equally cute wedding at Lighthouse on the Creek in Mt. Pleasant, SC. The bride’s family owns a salad dressing company and the family gifted mini jars of the grandmother’s secret recipe of Sully’s Blue Cheese Vinaigrette to guests. The 3rd Charleston Not Wedding Instagram Recap

December 14, 2014

Surprise! I thought I’d share the 3rd Charleston NotWedding roundup today as it happened exactly one week ago, last Sunday at the Charleston Rice Mill. This years NotWedding was the last under this name as it has officially been re-branded as The Big Fake Wedding. The theme was Parisian whites and the historic Rice Mill was awash in champagne, powder blue and light pink decor. I will be sharing the professional photos in a few weeks but until then take a peek at the event through some of my favorite instagram snaps!notwedding_insta2

Happy Weekend // Around The Web

December 12, 2014

Happy Weekend! I don’t know about you, but I sure have been to a lot of holiday parties this week and I don’t hate it! I’d have to say my favorite was a candle making event at Candlefish. They hosted several Charleston bloggers in their Wentworth shop to make holiday scented candles. Not only was their shop adorable and completely festive but we learned how to make soy based candles and left with two professional looking candles – perfect, one to keep and one to gift! If you are interested in signing up for one of their upcoming classes they are offering a special 20% discount if you use the code “CHASBLOGGER14.” So check out their class schedule by visiting their site here!

The most darling Christmas engagement photos.

A romantic Fall wedding in Florida.

An adorable Etsy shop find.

I love these coastal ornaments and they’re such an easy DIY!

A fun gift wrap party!

A song for your weekend.
