Southern Magnolia Filled Wedding

November 7, 2018

It doesn’t get more Southern than a wedding featuring Magnolia blooms, a cozy outdoor ceremony, and a biscuit bar! We are beyond smitten with all of the thoughtful details that Dairing Events created for Ellie and Jordan’s wedding. The bride’s grandparents farm served as the perfect location for this couples intimate wedding day. The couple included thoughtful details like pashminas for guests to wrap up in during the outdoor ceremony and a biscuit bar featuring preserves canned by the brides family. Make sure to pay attention to the brides advice at the very end – it’s a unique tip and something most forget!Southern Magnolia Filled WeddingSouthern Magnolia Filled WeddingTell us a little a bit about your wedding: I knew I wanted a rustic wedding. We have family property in Green Cove Springs, Florida on Black Creek (the Ira Farm) with a farm house with beautiful woods on the creek. I knew I wanted some part of the wedding out there, whether it was the rehearsal dinner or reception. Jordan’s mom had picked the perfect spot for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner (Keeler Property) so that helped with the decision of celebrating on the creek. For the colors, I have always loved the color green, blue and other natural colors. My style, I think, is classic and southern. Adair made my vision turn into real life. Everything was absolutely beautiful!Southern Magnolia Filled WeddingSouthern Magnolia Filled WeddingSouthern Magnolia Filled WeddingSouthern Magnolia Filled WeddingWhat were your favorite parts of the day? I loved getting ready with the girls in the morning. Also, Adair made us dinner plates after the wedding so Jordan and I could have a quick private dinner before the reception before we started socializing. It was a very special moment! I highly recommend this to every bride and groom because there is no way we would have eaten dinner if Adair and my mom didn’t plan that!Southern Magnolia Filled WeddingSouthern Magnolia Filled WeddingSouthern Magnolia Filled WeddingSouthern Magnolia Filled WeddingSouthern Magnolia Filled WeddingSouthern Magnolia Filled WeddingPlease describe any DIY, handmade, or personal details: We did have a biscuit bar. My family has property in Georgia and we make preserves every year. We thought it would be fun to make homemade biscuits and then use our preserves to put on top of the biscuits. Yum!Southern Magnolia Filled WeddingSouthern Magnolia Filled WeddingSouthern Magnolia Filled WeddingSouthern Magnolia Filled WeddingDo you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Definitely have a quick private dinner or meal before the reception. My other piece of advice.. if the wedding has an open bar, have a special place behind the bar with what the groom and bride want to drink. That way, the bride and groom will not run out of what they like.Southern Magnolia Filled WeddingSouthern Magnolia Filled WeddingSouthern Magnolia Filled WeddingSouthern Magnolia Filled Wedding

Custom Heraldry And Invitations By Dorothy Shain

September 29, 2016

Today I am so excited to introduce you to one of my favorite artists, Dorothy Shain. This year Dorothy took the art world by storm with her colorful, tropical bikini paintings that add the perfect dash of fun to every home. Dorothy’s paintings sell out quick and it is tough to get your hands on her gorgeous work. But luckily for all of you couples planning a wedding, Dorothy has recently entered the custom stationery world. Turning her keen eye and design sense to weddings, Dorothy now offers custom save the dates, invites, heraldry, menus, you name it! All of Dorothy’s custom commissions include a 2 hour consultation. It’s this kind of care and attention to clients that sets Dorothy apart. She really wants to know and understand your wedding vision so that she can create a design perfect for your wedding day. dorothy_shain_wedding_stationery_003dorothy_shain_wedding_stationery_004 I personally adore her custom crests for weddings, as they are the perfect way to celebrate your new union. Plus, the uses are endless! You can add custom heraldry to invites, pillows, napkins, and continue using long after your wedding day. dorothy_shain_wedding_stationery_008 Having a custom paper suite will really set your wedding apart and a colorful invite really sets the tone for a magical wedding! This post includes a few of my favorite fun designs from Dorothy Shain’s collection but make sure to visit her website and Instagram for even more. dorothy_shain_wedding_stationery_009

A Grimm Fairytale Wedding // Maria + Ryan

June 20, 2016

As last names go, I don’t think it gets cooler than having the last name Grimm. The Grimm brothers were the masters behind the classics Cinderella and Snow White, so it is only fitting that a couple with the surname Grimm would have a wedding fit for a fairytale. Sage Innovations planned a rustic tented affair under the oaks at Legare Waring House in Charleston. The reception featured long farm tables lined with arrangements of hydrangeas and white roses in vintage wooden boxes. A quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson lined each place setting and the newlyweds famous last name took center stage in a glowing marquee light over the dance floor. Nautical Charleston Wedding // Callie + Brian

September 2, 2015

There’s nothing we love more than a nautical affair and today’s dockside I Do’s are filled to the brim with classic stripes and preppy details. Despite the threat of thunderstorms, photographer Dana Cubbage was able to capture tons of cheerful snaps of the couple and their wedding party in downtown Charleston before hopping the bridge to their wedding at Cottage on the Creek. We’re loving the repetition of stripes throughout the wedding decor from the bridesmaids bouquets to the groomsmen’s ties and the table runners, giving the decor a fun pop!AA_001AA_002AA_003AA_004AA_007AA_008AA_009AA_010AA_011AA_012AA_013AA_014AA_015AA_016AA_017AA_018AA_019AA_020AA_023AA_024AA_025AA_026AA_027AA_028AA_029AA_030AA_031AA_032AA_033AA_034AA_035

Happy Weekend // Around The Web

May 29, 2015

Happy Weekend! The Spoleto festival is in full swing here in Charleston and I’m looking forward to a weekend full of events! Every year the festival descends on Charleston for two weeks and infuses the city with cultural events. Earlier this week my friend and I enjoyed a night out at 167 Raw and caught a Japanese Opera. How many times can you say that? Hope you have fun plans!

Bridal Beauty in Nepal.
I adore this bride’s blush gown in this romantic Islamorada wedding.
Can’t wait to get my hands on these colorful bandaids!
A relaxed outdoorsy engagement.
A song for your weekend – anyone else have this stuck in their head?

Engagement Style Inspiration

January 5, 2015

Since engagement season is upon us, I thought it only appropriate to do a post on some of my favorite engagement style inspiration. When it comes time to choose an outfit for your engagement shoot it might seem like nothing in your closet will work! You want to compliment your fiance but not appear too matchy-matchy. And while you want to look your best, it is also important to stay true to yourself and your style so that years down the road you don’t regret your outfit choice. Pastels and solids look best on camera but if you must wear a pattern make sure that only one of you is wearing it and it compliments the colors of your partners outfit. So take a cue from these fashionable brides and grooms below and don’t fret, as long as you are wearing a smile everything will look good! E_01Coco Tran via Style Me Pretty // via Jose Villa
