The 3rd Charleston Big Fake Wedding Recap

With the 4th Charleston Big Fake Wedding coming up in just a few short weeks (April 15th) it seems like the perfect time to recap the last event. This past December The Charleston Rice Mill was host to the 3rd Charleston Big Fake Wedding. With it’s brick walls and coastal setting it was the perfect venue for the classically styled event full of tulle, lace and whites. The Not Wedding Charleston

Drawing inspiration from the theme of lavender and herbs the Charleston NotWedding at the historic Rice Mill was every bit the lovely purple and green affair. From lavender seeds carefully spread on tables to the purple flowers blooming from table settings, this venue came alive as an indoor garden. The bride and groom, real couple (and a fellow Junior Leaguer of mine!) LaBruce and Harrison renewed their vows under sweeping oaks as guests watched on in handsome vintage pews. Place settings were set with vintage china, white crocheted napkins and silverware wrapped in yarn. All of these elements combined into a wedding reception overflowing with organic elegance. Attendees of the NotWedding sipped on bubbly and danced the night away before wishing this couple adieu with sparklers. Vintage Rice Mill Wedding // Amelia + Daniel

Amelia and Daniel’s wedding at the Rice Mill in Charleston, SC was the perfect vintage affair from the grooms monogrammed tie clip to the brides black and white BCBG wedding gown. The historic Rice Mill building on the Ashley River was the perfect setting with its classic brick interior and pressed tin ceiling. Nathan Westerfield photography captured sweet images of the couple on the cobblestone streets of Charleston. Tables were decorated with stacks of books, burlap, lace and vases full of corks; proving you can create unique centerpieces without the use of flowers.
