What You Need To Create This DIY Piñata
Scissors or Fringe Scissors
Heart Shaped Box
Tissue Paper
Glue Stick
Stick on letters
Will You Be My Bridesmaid Card – We had ours custom made by Pop Calligraphy Will You Be My Bridesmaid DIY Pinata Before starting your Will you Be My Bridesmaid Piñata make sure to fill it with goodies! We chose M+M’s in the same colors as our piñatas but it might be fun to fill with candy or confetti in your wedding colors. Before closing the lid tuck your bridesmaid card inside. We had ours custom made by Pop Calligraphy. Will You Be My Bridesmaid DIY PinataBegin by cutting your Tissue Paper into 1/2 inch long strips. Then “fringe” the strips of paper with your scissors. This part can be time consuming so purchasing these fringe scissors will help speed up the process. DIY Pinata Start with the lid of your box and glue the first piece of fringed paper at the bottom. Make sure to only glue the top of your paper and avoid gluing the fringe. Place the next piece of fringed paper so that it overlaps half of the first. Work your way up the face of the piñata until it is completely covered. Once the face of your piñata is completely covered trim the edges of any extra paper.DIY Pinata Next begin working on the sides of your piñata. This is a little trickier than the face as it is round and not flat. As before, begin at the bottom and work your way up to the top. DIY Pinata Once you have completed the sides of your box your bridesmaids piñatas are finished! Complete your gift by using stick on letters to write a note on your piñatas. We went with conversation heart sayings but you could write your bridesmaids name or even your wedding date on the top. The possibilities are endless! Beautiful… Now only if I could do things like this all the time. I’m so not an artsy person.

I love this! I do have questions. How does one get it open? Is it hard to open? Seriously, I am considering using this idea as an ice breaker. Thank you for your super clever and very beautiful tutorial as well!

Hi Kathy! It can be a little tricky to open. If you look under DIY’s for Flower Girl Pinata this has steps for an easier option. Hope that helps!
